Our class have been chosen along with other schools in the country to take part in a Growing Potato project.This is the second year our school has done this.
We were sent 2 types of seed potatoes earlier this term and we had to leave them on the windowsill so they could start chitting.This is where the seed potatoes start making shoots which have to harden, ready to be planted in the ground.
They were ready this week and we planted them.
We planted two Vales Emerald potatoes in one pot and two Rocket potatoes in the other.
We had to plant them at the bottom of the pot and cover it loosely with soil.Then we watered them really well and put them outside our classroom.
We hope they will start to grow over the holiday with their first shoots.
