Last week Year 1 had a visit to the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood. This was to help us with our history work on toys in the past.
When we arrived we had a look around at the toys in the cases on the first floor. There were lots of moving toys to look at.
We then went and took part in a workshop on Moving Toys.We had a chance to play with lots of different moving toys, and we learnt how they worked.
Then the teacher showed us a very old toy called a Zoeotrope. This toy is very clever as it shows moving pictures when you spin it.
We then played with a smaller one in our groups and took it in turns to spin it and watch the pictures.
We then had to stop for lunch.
After lunch we only had a short time to look at the museum again before we had to go back on the coach back to school.
We all enjoyed our visit to the Museum as we saw lots lots of interesting toys.
