Odes

This week we have been learning how to write an ode. The children worked so hard and produced fantastic odes to everything from their pets to their parents. Here are some shining examples:

My Ode to Mum by Afi

Oh Mum,
You have brown eyes like a night sky.
Your friendliness makes me so happy I could scream.
Waking me up at 7 o' clock,
And making me breakfast - a feast from a queen's bowl.
Oh Mum,
You are caring and lovely, which makes my life a happy and joyful place,
I hope it carries on forever.
No one can compare to one such as you.
Every time we walk through the park the trees dance because you have a funny personality.
You make me laugh all of the time.
You have the prettiest hair and are special to me in your own way.
Oh Mum

My Ode to Tickly by Sami

Oh Tickly,
Your black and white fur is as soft as the clouds in heaven.
When I look into your diamond eyes I feel peace and harmony and my anger is drained.
When you purr you cast a spell on me.
When I enter the living room you patiently wait and greet me with pleasure.
Oh Tickly,
You run as fast as light. You are the riches of kings, the core of space and time.
When you're not here I fall to pieces.
Will you ever come back?
Oh Tickly.

Great work 5O. You included many important features of odes.
