Science Week!

This week has been Science Week at JB and we have had such an exciting time! We kicked off with Mad Science Monday when we got to try out loads of strange experiments including making our own volcanoes and playing with corn flour goo!
On Tuesday we had an outdoor learning experience, we got together with the rest of Year 4 and sorted solids and liquids in the playground. Some of them were easy to sort and some were a bit more difficult, like ice and an egg...which category would you put them in?

On Wednesday we had a really exciting day! In the morning we had a visit from two paramedics, they told us about which numbers to call if we have an emergency and how to put someone in the recovery position. Can you remember what the two numbers are that you can call? What are some of the reasons you should call the different numbers? What are some of the important things to remember when you are putting someone in the recovery position?

If that wasn't exciting enough on Wednesday afternoon we were lucky enough to have a Lamborghini come to school! It drove into the play ground and revved its engine, we said it roared like a lion! Some people were lucky enough to sit in the Lamborghini, they said it was really cool and very luxurious inside!

We also did some more experiments including thinking about different ways to separate materials including sieving and using magnets.

Lots of people in 4G made fantastic projects for their Science week homework and we shared them to the rest of the class on Thursday.

On Thursday evening the teachers had a Science Wonders evening at school and lots of children came with their parents to try out different experiments that had been going on around school. It was great to see some faces from 4G there too!

Finally on Friday we looked around all the classes homework in the hall and voted for our favourites!

A big thank you to Mrs Jackson for organising all of these fantastic activities for us we had a really fun-filled week!

Stay tuned for lots more pictures of our Science week adventures!

Signed

Professor Garlick
