Your homework task this week is to write a recount about our trip.
Things to think about:
- How you travelled there.
- What you saw.
- What you enjoyed.
- The events of the day in sequence.
- What learning took place.
- How you felt.
Happy writing

DeleteI travelled to the Cutty Sark in two trains. It was to crowded in the train so some of us had to sit on the floor! It was a long way to walk to the Cutty Sark. But when we arrived we were astonished!!!we enjoyed and went nuts around the museum. I loved it so much fun I feel like going there again!!!
ReplyDeleteOn friday 5th of July we went on a school trip to the Cutty sark, which is a gigantic ship!!!! We travelled by train and by walking. We went by the underground but, we had to walk to the station first. It took about 5-10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteWe saw the ship on top of a building , we were shocked as we walked in. We also saw Chinese writing on the floor, but tea holders on the roof!!! We each had a little booklet to write facts in it. Something very astonishing was the ' ghosts ' in some of the rooms!!! I enjoyed the whole trip. And every bit. First we went middle of the ship most of us even saw a film!!
Then we went to the top of the ship and went in a room and saw a ghost in the mirror and a ghost writing!!! I felt lucky as I went on that trip and tired because it was a long day!!!!!!!!!!!
On Friday 5th of July 2013, year 3 went on a school trip to the Cutty Sark.
ReplyDeleteFirst, we walked to the Centre Line, then we got into the train, we went to Stratford where we got off and walked to the DLR. After, we went on another DLR and when we got off we walked to the Cutty Sark. It was amazing and cool, so we went to explore the ship.
There was some interesting information about the ship. Then, we climbed a bit more to a different level of the ship where was a place with information about what kind of jobs people on that level used to do. In one drawer was poo and the smell was disgusting (yuk, yuk, yuk.)
After, we climbed right to the top of the ship. There was the best bit because everything looked so fancy!
After that we had lunch. Then, we went to sketch the ship which was quite tricky.
Finally, we went back to school. First, we took the DLR, then the other DLR and lastly on the Central Line. Oh, no! Quarter of Mrs Cheeks’ class got stuck outside, but luckily the doors opened again. Mrs Cheek was angry, but we all arrived to school safely.
In our trip we learnt how to sketch and some information about the Cutty Sark. My favourite part was being at the top of the ship because I could see interesting things up there.
It was a great trip and I had a fantastic time!
Excellent Ellie, what interesting information did you learn?
DeleteWe left school at 9:30 in the morning and headed for Hainault Station. We got on the first train which took us to Stratford Station. We got on a second train from Stratford to Canary Wharf and then we changed for a third train to the Cutty Sark.
ReplyDeleteThe Cutty Sark is a big ship. We had a good look around the ship and saw bunk beds, steering wheel and living room.
We also got to draw pictures and learnt lots of facts about the ship.
Later, we all had lunch and found out who our teacher will be next year. My favourite bit was when we went under the dark and cold tunnel under the river. It was fun.
We got back to school in time before home time.
I learnt about the Cutty Sark and where it was built.
I enjoyed the day. It was a fun experience.
Wonderful Afi. Please add some more time connectives :-)
DeleteFriday 5th July
ReplyDeleteFirstly, me and my partner Viktoria and our group walked to Hainault station at 9:30 from john Bramston primary we got on the tube we took three stops we arrived at canary wharf.
Next , we hopped on the DLR which was over ground and stopped at cutty Sark station at quarter to 11.
Then , we went in a stinky& wet tunnel that was under water!!once it was over we went inside the cutty Sark there was a tiny shop then we went down stairs we had to wait for our turn to go up onto the ship at half past 11 we had one thing from our pack lunch then we went onto the ship we found out lots of facts .
Finally , we went outside to sketch the cutty Sark boat then we left and took the train back to john Bramston I ENJOYED IT!
What did you learn about the cutty sark Nokuthula?
DeleteOn our trip to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, we walked to the station from school and got on the Central line underground train and then the DLR train.
ReplyDeleteWhen we arrived, we went very close to the Cutty Sark and took lots of photos of the class. We all had bright yellow jackets and looked like lemons.
We went inside the ship and saw Chinese writing and tea bags, the we went upstairs bedrooms and a kitchen.
I enjoyed looking through the Telescope, because I could see buildings far away that looked close.
We had a quick snack and I ate my pineapple chunks and for lunch I ate my ham sandwiches my mum made for me.
We walk through a very old tunnel on the way back to school, before we got on the trains, which was fun.
We learnt that tea in the 1960's were very expensive.
I felt very excited about the trip and had loads of fun, especially when I used the telescope.
All of year 3 went to the Cutty Sark.
ReplyDeleteFirst, Ms Alexander told us a safety check list, to make sure where all safe on the trip.
Secondly, we walked to Hainault train station- I DONT KNOW WHY WE DIDN'T TAKE THE BUS- because it was scorching!
Then, we went on the tube, then DLR and finally DLR to the Cutty Sark.
The Cutty Sark was amazing on the outside but phenominal on the inside!
When we went inside the bottom part, the only scent was tea because the Cuty Sark transported tea from different countries. On the top level we found a mirror and when we looked into it- a ghost was inside.
We all learnt a lot of interesting facts especially on the middle level but on the over levels aswel.
The Cutty Sark not only transported tea it also transported wool. And on every voyage it picked up tons of coal from America!
When we went out of the Cutty Sark we were all so hungry and I ate everything I had! Afterwards we drew pictures of the ship and went back to school but this time it was DLR,DLR,tube. This time it felt like a longer journey.
I really enjoyed my time at the Cutty Sark it was amazing. Thanks to all the year 3 teachers who planned this trip. We all loved it.
