Aquariums- David Hockney style!

This week it's arts week! We have merged art and d&t together and created fish aquariums.

First we painted the background to our aquarium by taking our line for a walk and adding different shades and tones of water colours. We then made it stand out by lining it with white paint and glitter.

To strengthen the structure we used tissue paper and PVA glue. We tore the tissue up in small pieces and layered it to reinforce the David Hockney technique!

Now for the design and technology! We used a saw and bench hook to make a pole along the bottom- we had to pierce holes in our boxes. We stuck different materials on it for foliage and sea plants.

Lastly, we created a mechanism to make our fish swim around our tank.

We helped each other. It was tricky!

Here are some of our completed aquariums! Go Y3A they look fantastic!
