Earlier this year we planted some broad bean seeds in the school allotment.
They grew very well and we checked on them through the year.
Last week we checked on them and they were ready for picking.
We then opened the pods and found beautiful green beans inside a soft bed. That protected the beans. We recycled the pods in our box to go to the allotment compost bin.
We then cooked them in a small amount of water.
We let them cool down and then we tasted them.
They were delicious.
It was lovely to have such fresh beans to taste.
The next plants we have to harvest are the potatoes growing outside our classroom.
