Measuring Maths

For our homework last week we had to make a long paper strip using one piece of A4 paper. This was quite a challenge as we had to decide how wide to cut the strips and the best way to join them together.
We then brought them to school.
Today we decided to find out which of us made the longest strip.
We went outside to do this.
We had to help each other as it was quite windy.
We had to be fair in our investigating,so every strip had to start by the yellow line.
Mrs Brackett helped us, as she had to make a chalk mark where our strip ended.
We then had to stand at that place to compare our strips.
Mrs Jackson then took some photos as a record of our work.
Look at our pictures.
Can you see which child made the longest strip?

Yes it was Shen.

We really enjoyed this homework activity.
